Skydance Paramount Will Cut Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.

More overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company intending to disclose full details during its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news had indicated the company aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not yet commented to a request for comment.
